Site Context
The project site is located on the steep slopes of Sika village, near the city of Galugah in Mazandaran Province. The pronounced slope of the land presented significant design and construction challenges. In response, a terraced platform of approximately 200 square meters was designed, providing a stable base upon which the building is carefully positioned.
Design Concept
The design is driven by principles of simplicity, functionality, and spatial calm. Generous use of natural light, expansive views toward the surrounding landscape, and a strong connection between interior and exterior spaces form the core of the architectural concept. Full-height openings, verandas, and terraces act as breathing spaces for the house, enabling year-round use of outdoor areas. A controlled contrast between the building volume and the lush green context gives the project a distinct architectural identity.

• Open-plan living and dining area integrated with the kitchen

Structural System & Materials

Conclusion
Mahjoori House is an attempt to create a villa that is both intimate and solid, establishing a distinctive presence within its rural context. By introducing a contemporary architectural language into a traditional village setting, the project creates a deliberate contrast in form and color against the surrounding greenery, resulting in a strong visual identity. Compact spatial organization, intelligent use of natural light, and the prominent role of semi-open spaces transform the house into a functional, calm, and inviting living environment—offering a modern interpretation of residential life within the natural landscape of Sika village.
