The site is located at the edge of a rural settlement, surrounded by rice fields with gentle natural topography and wide scenic views. To minimize circulation conflicts, vehicular access is organized from the south and pedestrian access from the north/east. A low-cost green buffer strip has been planned along the site boundary to act as a visual filter between the building and the farmland, preserving both privacy and the natural landscape.
The design is based on minimal ground intervention, low building volume, and harmonious integration with the rural landscape. Circulation paths are designed to be short and direct, ensuring efficient daily use and quick evacuation in emergencies. Semi-open spaces (verandas and covered patios) create breathing zones between inside and outside, strengthening the visual and spatial connection. A 7-meter setback from the main frontage defines a clear and inviting entrance sequence.
• Living and reception area with direct access to the veranda/patio
• Kitchen adjacent to the living space
• Two bedrooms in the private zone
• Two bathrooms
• Entrance and a small cloakroom/vestibule
• Open terrace for daily gatherings and light outdoor activities
• A pitched gable roof acts as the primary climatic protection layer against heavy rainfall.
• Rainwater is collected through gutters and channels and directed to a safe drainage area.
• Openings are designed for natural ventilation, solar control, and improved thermal performance.
• Shading devices are used to minimize glare and control rain impact.
• Walls: Cement brick masonry with a simple and economical finish
• Roof: Lightweight steel structure with moisture-resistant roofing
• Flooring: Washable and moisture-resistant for easy maintenance
Bardia Villa is designed as a compact, cost-efficient, and climate-responsive residence, harmonized with the humid climate of Sari. It is nature-friendly, minimally intrusive, and functionally efficient for everyday living.
