The site is located in one of the rural villages on the outskirts of Babol, surrounded by a lush forested landscape. The design approach focuses on minimizing site intervention and preserving the existing vegetation to maintain the natural character of the area.
The aim is to create a small, context-sensitive cabin that harmonizes with the local culture and forest environment, built with minimal height and without cutting any trees. A clear and simple entrance sequence leads to the interior, while semi-open spaces such as the veranda and terrace enhance the visual and spatial connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
• Main living space with a high ceiling (~5 m) to improve spatial quality and ventilation
• One bedroom
• Full bathroom
• Open terrace with seating integrated among the trees, offering panoramic forest views
• Proposed structure: lightweight steel frame
• Wall and roof materials selected based on cost efficiency and minimal environmental impact
Niki Cabin is a small, economical, and nature-oriented retreat that achieves maximum spatial quality with minimal intervention, offering an immersive and direct connection to the surrounding forest landscape.
